Heart of England Co-operative Society is on the lookout for a Retail Digital Marketing Lead to drive our digital brand presence across food and funeral services. If you’re data-driven, strategically minded, and excited about emerging tech and AI, this could be your perfect next step.
About the Role
In this pivotal role, you will:
- Develop and lead an always-on digital marketing strategy across social media, email, websites, and a soon-to-launch mobile app
- Drive engaging, personalised content that reflects our brand values—community, value, charity, ESG, and diversity
- Shape our CRM strategy across the full customer lifecycle: acquisition, engagement, loyalty, and advocacy
- Optimise digital campaign performance through analytics, segmentation, and A/B testing
- Champion innovations in AI and emerging tools to enhance marketing efficiency and creativity
- Support our mission to be the leading community retailer by promoting programmes like Helping Hearts and Pennies
- Collaborate with internal teams and third-party agencies to deliver targeted campaigns that increase footfall, average basket value, and brand loyalty
- Manage our digital coordinator/apprentice and marketing budget
What You’ll Bring
You will be:
- A highly organised, strategic thinker with a creative spark
- Passionate about digital marketing trends, tech, and AI-powered innovation
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-priority environment
- A confident communicator and team player who thrives on collaboration
- Results-focused, with a strong track record of digital campaign delivery
You will have:
- 5+ years of experience in digital marketing or CRM (ideally in retail)
- Proven expertise in Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, and content tools
- Experience developing paid/organic campaigns targeting local demographics
- A strong understanding of customer journeys and multichannel engagement
- A degree (or equivalent experience) in digital media, marketing, or a related field
- Experience coaching or managing others and supporting professional growth
