Crynodeb

We are looking for a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our busy Housing Services team. Employed on a 12 month contract to provide maternity cover, you will deliver a high-quality service that focuses on positive outcomes for tenants and other service users.

Our generous conditions of service include a 4-day working week, hybrid working (2 days in office, 2 at home), a career average revalued earning pension scheme, 25 days annual leave and 13 public holidays per annum (pro rata for 4-day week).

Melville Housing is Midlothian’s largest registered social landlord. We own and manage more than 2,150 properties mainly in Midlothian but with some in South Lanarkshire as well as a small number across central and southern Scotland.

As part of our highly professional team, you will be responsible for resolving customer enquiries at first point of contact and will work within a multi-skilled team, providing efficient and professional services.

Working as part of the Housing team, you will assist in delivering excellent performance in key areas of housing, including rent management, welfare benefits, allocations, estate management and support services, and encouraging tenant influence in services and communities.

You should have experience working with the public in a customer service environment. Preference will be given to applicants who have housing experience or who have shown an interest in progressing in housing. The successful candidates must have a good level of education (minimum of 5 Nat 5s/Standard Grades, HNC Housing or equivalent) and show commitment to working towards a housing qualification.

In order to help us achieve high performance and service levels and ensure accuracy, timescales and compliance, you will have strong administrative and IT skills, including good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

You must also be able to build good relations with our tenants and partners, and contribute to our enthusiastic team, together with the ability to work well on your own initiative.

You will also need to have a full driving licence and access to a motor vehicle insured for business.
