As a support to our clinical workforce within the Divisions you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our hospital wards.

We have adopted a centralised hiring process for administration roles in bands 2-3 and 4-5. This means you apply once and are considered for multiple positions within our organisation, saving time for both candidates and managers while accessing a broader talent pool.
This week are currently recruiting for the following Band 3 roles across the organisation:
• Lung Cancer Screening Service Administrator - 37.5 hours per week, 8 month FTC

An exciting opportunity to be a part of our lung cancer screening program team has arisen for an organised computer literate person, who is friendly and compassionate. The service offers a lung cancer screen to all 55 -74 year old current or previous smokers, a screen constitutes screening phone call, an appointment with the nurse and if required a low dose CT scan.
The role is busy and varied requiring good time management and prioritising skills. We can offer hybrid working with a combination of on site working (mobile vans, office space at Cowley Unipart house) as well as some at home working, this will require flexibility from the successful candidate.
This role offers variation of tasks including clerical, administrative and participant facing reception and telephone work. Tasks would include receiving and handling of phone calls and emails from service users, managing appointments and DNAs. Using the hospital and radiology computer systems for requesting scans, booking appointments and sending appointment and report letters. The role also requires assisting the radiographer greeting and arriving participants, bringing patients through to the CT scanner, preparing them for their scan, and being a chaperone when required.
The service has a multidiscipline team with a range of clinical and administrative staff, this role would be required to work with and provide administrative support to the whole team.
Duties:
1. Introduce and welcome patients in the waiting area, confirming their identity according to the Trust Policy.
2. To be comfortable working with a range of different patients.
3. To exercise discretion and maintain patient confidentiality.
4. Maintain the patient’s dignity and privacy at all times.
5. To demonstrate good communication skills when dealing with patients, relatives and members of the Multidisciplinary Team, utilising sensitivity, empathy and the ability to manage conflict.
6. Act as a patient’s escort taking them to the changing rooms, preparing them for the examination.
7. To assist with patient moving and handling and equipment moving, using correct methods and equipment as required (as per Manual Handling Policy).
8. To undertake Mandatory Training as required by the Trust, to develop and increase skills, to improve the service to the public.
9. Responsible for the accurate booking in of patients, in addition to amending data where appropriate, using the Radiology Information System (RIS), the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) and Nelson + software.
10. To cover staff annual leave/absence which may require cross site working.
