The Trust is looking for a highly organised and driven individual to lead on the roll out of oncology medicines homecare services at Northumbria. The post holder with work across clinical and operational areas to oversee chemotherapy delivery to patients' homes.

This post will require a combination clinical oncology and haematology expertise and operational and technical skills to set-up and lead a complex service. The post holder will have the opportunity to work within a defined area positively impacting patient experience and outcomes while also improving efficiency that benefits the wider NHS.

· To manage and develop the Trust wide oncology homecare service.

· Provide clinical support to staff and patients engaged in the management of patients within the oncology/ haematology service via homecare.

· To manage and develop all Pharmacy computer and IT systems (e.g. Optum, ARX interface, Chemocare and Powergate). To develop and increase the utilisation of information technology and management information to aid decision-making and facilitate operational effectiveness.

· To support the management and provision of medicines related homecare services across the Trust

· To support the various business functions of the Pharmacy service through data management, manipulation and co-ordination, e.g. Key Performance Indicator reporting, drug reports.

· To manage a team of business and administration staff who support the delivery of the above services.

· To provide support to the Lead Pharmacist Procurement, Formulary and Business Information with the local management of the North East and North Cumbria (NENC) Formulary.

· To provide pharmacy technical support and advice on pharmaceutical matters and those pertaining to medicines management when required. Medicines management encompasses the selection, procurement, dispensing, delivery, prescribing, administration and review of medicines to optimise the contribution they make to produce informed and desired outcomes of patient care. It includes all the processes, activities and systems inside and outside of pharmacy undertaken by doctors, nurses, porters, GPs, pharmacy staff etc.

· To work as a practising pharmacy technician, undertaking dispensary work and ward based clinical and technical duties when required.

· To support the work of other senior technical staff, undertaking relevant duties as required e.g. providing cover.

· To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.
