The Opportunity
This post represents an exciting opportunity to join a team of staff in Keele University’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences, which comprises a wide range of programmes which promote students’ critical thinking, creativity, and preparation for success after graduation. The School has particular strengths in both media theory and practice.

The successful candidate will teach modules across Digital Media at undergraduate and Masters levels. They will design stimulating learning opportunities and resources, mentor students, set innovative assessments, and provide feedback. They will be versatile and able to teach: 1. core approaches, theories, and methods in digital media studies, 2. creative and professional practice in digital media content creation. They will be able to discharge administrative roles efficiently. They will be flexible and versatile, such as by contributing to related programmes such as Film Studies or Sociology.

Modules that the appointed person will teach include: ‘Social Media Content Creation’, ‘Understanding and Producing Digital Media’, and ‘Social Media Work’.

They will hold a PhD in Media, and they will have an excellent record of research in the discipline of digital media commensurate with career stage. This may include academic outputs, along with clear plans for future research.

Please note that the starting salary will typically be at the bottom of the pay scale shown above.
