Your role as the Training Manager within 78 Squadron will be vital to the effective management and control of training design output. The main job holder activities are described below; however, it is anticipated that ongoing and future change initiatives may require existing tasks to be developed and improved, or new tasks added to the role that enable the successful achievement of future strategic business plans. The key tasks and responsibilities of the Department are as follows:
Ensuring the Area Radar Operational Conversion Course is Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) aligned and is delivered in accordance with relevant documentation.
Review and acceptance of Formal Training Statements and all other training documentation on behalf of the Training Delivery Authority.
Set and articulate training course requirements, parameters, and outputs.
Manage the design of efficient, JSP 822 Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) aligned course content and training programmes which meet training objectives.
Organise the booking, planning and coordination of AROCC, including classrooms, simulators and suitable trainers and sim drivers.
Support the delivery of AROCC in conjunction with the officer in charge.
Engage with external awarding bodies, identification of achievable appropriate accredited qualifications mapped to training.
Engage with training staff to review, re-design and modernise AROCC training, collaborate on the production of blended learning solutions.
Ensure that new and emerging technologies are considered and where possible embedded into training when meeting customer training requirements.
In collaboration with Learning Technologies identify and implement opportunities for energising training and exploit delivery opportunities on a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
Monitoring, custodianship, maintenance, and configuration control of the Course Training Packages held on SharePoint and VLE.
Line Manager of training staff and appraisal responsibilities.
Participation in the evaluation, audit and monitoring of training activities led by the AROCC Training Delivery Authority.
