We are looking for someone who can fulfil the role effectively and who puts Health and Safety, front and centre of everything that the team do.
You will be an integral part of ‘Team ‘SWISCo’ as we continue to develop and grow and your role will be key, in driving the culture and effectiveness of the business, ensuring SWISCo operates innovatively and profitably, whilst delivering against targets.
The team you will be part of is the Contracts & Development Team focusing on streetlighting primarily and Traffic Signals. You will provide resilience to both parts of the service by assisting to manage both contract areas. Training will be provided to learn and understand traffic signals so will be ideal for someone wishing to broaden their knowledge and skills and be part of a dynamic team.
Key Duties:
Work closely on a day-to-day basis with managers and other team members to promote and ensure efficient communications at all levels within the team and service as well as between departments.
To maintain and update the Street Lighting computerised inventory/management system.
To support with the production of works programmes for routine maintenance, lap changes and the like, day-to-day maintenance requirements. To include monitoring and rescheduling where necessary
To have input into the development of systems to allow effective monitoring and control of the Street Lighting Maintenance Contract
Essential Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications for initial shortlisting:
Skills and Effectiveness in:
IT skills, Microsoft 365 and Excel
Effective ability to identify electrical faults and bad practice
Possession of, and can demonstrate effective analytical problem-solving skills
Effective communication skills in order to engage and influence to reach the desired outcomes, whilst also being sympathetic to the relevant stakeholder
Knowledge:
Knowledge of lighting products for streetlights
Good understanding of Telensa CMS
Good knowledge of Chapter 8
Sound electrical streetlighting installation knowledge
Safe electrical working knowledge
Experience of/in:
Working in the Streetlighting Industry
Working on Highway lighting
Working on the highway network
Problem-solving to the desired outcome
Qualifications:
ONC/HNC (Desirable)
Educated to A Level or equivalent standard or has equivalent organisational knowledge and experience.
Professional qualification within the field of the service area at a minimum level 3 NVQ/ONC
Full Drivers Licence / Ability to get around Torbay
G39 Certificate (Desirable)
Chapter 8 Certification(Desirable)
CSCS Card (Desirable)
Membership of relevant professional body (Desirable)
