Job Summary and Main Purpose
Derby County Community Trust (DCCT) is seeking a passionate and proactive individual to lead on the development and delivery of our Positive Masculinity Programme, aimed at tackling misogyny and toxic masculinity among young males. This role will play a vital part in shaping attitudes, promoting respectful relationships, and fostering inclusive communities through education, physical activity, and community engagement.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for designing and delivering engaging interventions, building strong partnerships with schools and community stakeholders, and supporting the delivery of Prevent-related initiatives. They will also provide training to staff and coaches to embed a deeper understanding of misogyny prevention across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and deliver engaging workshops in secondary schools focused on misogyny, toxic masculinity, and positive male identity.
• Facilitate physical activity sessions that complement classroom-based interventions, promoting teamwork, respect, and emotional wellbeing.
• Develop and lead community-based sessions that extend the reach of the programme beyond schools.
• Work closely with existing DCCT programmes such as Premier League Kicks, Premier League Inspires, and Tackle IT to ensure alignment and shared impact.
• Support in building strong relationships with schools, community partners, and stakeholders to support programme delivery and growth.
• Deliver training sessions to DCFC coaches and DCCT staff to embed understanding of misogyny prevention and positive masculinity.
• Monitor and evaluate the quality of all programme delivery, ensuring consistency, impact, and safeguarding standards.
• Support the development and delivery of the Prevent work, ensuring it aligns with national guidance and local priorities.
• Identify opportunities to expand and enhance Prevent-related initiatives
Person Specification
Qualifications
Youth Worker qualification or equivalent (Essential)
Educated to degree level (Essential)
Experience
Experience of project/programme management (Essential)
Experience working with young people in educational or community settings (Essential)
Experience of working with diverse communities (Desirable)
Strong understanding of gender-based issues, including misogyny and toxic masculinity (Essential)
Experience of planning and delivering issue-based interventions to meet the target audience needs (Essential)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (Essential)
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people (Essential)
Knowledge of the Prevent strategy and experience in related work (Desirable)
Knowledge of Show Racism the Red Card agenda (Desirable)
