Jamia Masjid & Madrassa Faizul Quran Ghousia is seeking a dedicated Religious Worker to join our vibrant, motivated team.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will assist with daily religious and operational activities at the Mosque and Islamic Centre. This is a non-ministerial position focused on supporting Islamic services and community duties.


Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the performance of Islamic duties including Adhaan, leading daily Salah, supporting Janazah rites, and other religious services in line with mosque traditions.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the musalla (prayer area), including care for prayer mats, garments, and sacred spaces.
• Oversee the cleanliness of courtyard, wudu (ablution) areas, kitchen, and other shared spaces.
• Support the Imam and management team in organising Islamic events and ceremonies.
• Guide and coordinate volunteers to ensure activities run smoothly and respectfully.
• Engage with the local community, including Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi and Pothohari speakers, offering support and direction.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and joint initiatives with other mosques and Islamic institutions.
• Assist in fundraising efforts to help sustain and grow Centre activities.
• Refer any special prayer requests or religious concerns to the Imam or Centre office.
• Adhere to the Centre’s values, guidelines, and Islamic principles at all times.


Applicant Requirements

• Recognised training or background in Islamic religious services.
• Preferably holds qualifications such as Alim, or certificates in Qur’an, Fiqh, Hadith, or Aqeedah.
• Able to perform duties across Sunni Hanafi traditions with cultural awareness.
• Good Qur’an recitation skills (training can be provided to improve if needed).
• Basic understanding of Arabic and English.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with both youth and adults.
• Self-motivated, professional, and able to take initiative.
• Open to ongoing training and professional development.
• Passionate about Islamic education and community engagement.

Additional Details

• Education: Minimum GCSE or equivalent
• Hours: Full-time, with a flexible schedule (including mornings, evenings, weekends)
• Holidays: Pro rata entitlement
• Background Checks: All successful candidates will undergo standard background checks, including references and relevant safeguarding verifications (e.g. police/disclosure checks, depending on local laws).
