Our client is a forward-thinking and expanding construction firm delivering residential development projects across the West Midlands. As they continue to scale operations, they are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support the business on a part-time basis.
The Role:
Working from their Birmingham office 2 days per week, you’ll be a key part of the commercial function—ensuring the financial health and contractual compliance of current and upcoming projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing cost estimates and budgets
- Managing subcontractor payments, variations, and valuations
- Assisting with procurement and tender documentation
- Monitoring project financials and reporting on cost performance
- Supporting contract administration and commercial decision-making
- Ensuring all works are managed in accordance with JCT Design and Build contracts
Candidate Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the residential construction sector
- Strong working knowledge of JCT Design and Build contracts
- Able to work independently and manage commercial responsibilities confidently
- Based within commutable distance to Birmingham
- Available for 2 days per week (office-based)
