What's involved with this role:

Job Title: STEPS Administrator

Ref: Gloucester 5272310

Pay rate: £14.14 to £14.84 per hour PAYE



This is not a remote role. You can be based in one of the offices in Gloucester, Cheltenham, Stroud or Cinderford.



The role:

We are looking for an experienced Administrator, who is able to work across various sites in the county, to work for the STEPS service to provide a high quality and effective service meeting statutory and legislative requirements in relation to SEND Local Authority processes including EHCP and Reviews.

Under the direction of the Business Administration Lead, you will support the service with a range of administration support functions including communications with schools, settings and parent carers.

Knowledge and experience of working in education, working with systems such as Capita and Liquid Logic and an understanding of special educational needs and disabilities would be advantageous.



Key responsibilities:

Support the issuing of advice for Education, Health and Care Plans, in line with the SEN Code of Practice and relevant legislation
Respond sensitively and professionally to parent and professional enquiries, both written and verbal
Contribute to ensuring that statutory, local and national performance indicators and targets are met
Input data to aid in the monitoring of resources and performance indicators for Education, Health and Care Plans and wider SEND processes
Prioritise the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people, upholding all safeguarding policies and procedures
Maintain and improve team systems and processes, including effective use of ICT
Collate evidence to support cases for the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal
Build strong relationships with schools and settings to support lead professionals with timely and effective communication
Undertake required aspects of the case reviews ensuring that statutory processes and deadlines are strictly monitored and adhered to in line with current regulations



What the client is looking for:

5 GCSEs or equivalent skills or experience
Excellent and proven customer service experience
A team player with strong communication and organisational skills
Proven track record of working in a high-pressure environment to tight timescales
Experience of working with and across organisations
Proven ability to deal with highly sensitive information, challenging situations and able to be emotionally resilient
Proven skills in effective involvement with service users to develop and improve service provision
Understanding of the SEND code of practice and local authority responsibilities for children with SEN
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages and other IT systems
Ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively with users at all levels
Commitment to achieving the best outcomes for children and young people
Knowledge and experience of working in education, working with systems such as Capita and Liquid - desirable
