The Role

As part of our ambitious plans for Bolton’s visitor economy, culture, and regeneration we are seeking to recruit a Film Office Manager to manage the implementation, development and delivery of the Bolton Film Office.

As an industry expert the Film Office Manager will develop our film office offer, lead a group of partners to unlock the opportunity and generate proposals, interest and demand.

To do this, the jobholder will work closely with services, to guide filming across the Bolton with key strategic partners and establish a list of council owned assets which could be used as filming locations, develop business plans and process to reflect our vision.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience of working in the Film Industry, a strong understanding of the challenges faced by the sector and excellent contacts across the industry.

In recent years Bolton has built its reputation as the 'Hollywood of the North,' with an impressive 140 days of filming in 2023, featuring in major productions like The Reckoning, Gentleman in Moscow, and Netflix's Fool Me Once.

The town’s locations, in particular the cobbles and grand, curved architecture of Le Mans Crescent, have featured in dozens of productions over recent years.

So now is a perfect time to join us and create our film office offer, as we are changing and doing things differently our big idea is that Bolton is born to perform!

You will be a collaborator, committed to building effective working relationships with stakeholders and the film industry. Additionally, you’ll be working closely with key council services to ensure the flow of information and support the day-to-day business activities and maximise income generation opportunities.
