Job Vacancy: Strapman (With Valid Strapping Ticket - Rail Electrification)
Location: Southampton
Pay: Competitive + Night/Weekend Rates
Shifts: Flexible - Including Nights & Weekends
Start Date: ASAP

Are you a qualified Strapman with a valid Strapping Ticket for railway electrification works? We are currently recruiting for experienced individuals to join our team on high-profile rail infrastructure projects.

Role Overview:
As a Strapman, you'll be responsible for installing temporary straps and bonds to ensure safe working conditions on or near live Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) and other electrified systems. Your role will be critical in electrical isolations and ensuring the safety of trackside personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installing and removing strapping equipment in accordance with safety regulations
  • Working under the direction of the Nominated Person (NP) or Authorised Person (AP)
  • Verifying earthing and bonding for electrical isolation procedures
  • Maintaining strict adherence to Network Rail and industry standards
  • Recording and reporting all strapping activities clearly and accurately

Requirements:

  • Valid Strapping Ticket (OLE / Electrification)
  • PTS (Personal Track Safety) - Mandatory
  • COSS ticket - Mandatory
  • OLEC 1+ preferred
  • Sound understanding of rail electrification safety practices
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to work nights/weekends and in all weather conditions
