An opportunity has arisen for a Head of English to lead curriculum development, quality assurance, and performance management within a thriving further education environment.


Our next Head of English will:

  • Lead the strategic development, delivery, and quality assurance of the English 16-18 curriculum, ensuring alignment with local needs and sector reforms.
  • Manage and inspire teams to achieve high performance across teaching, learning, assessment, and student outcomes.
  • Oversee compliance and improvement processes including self-assessment, observations, and readiness for OFSTED and awarding body requirements.



To be our next Head of English, you will need:

  • Proven leadership experience in Further or Adult Education, with a focus on English.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum planning, quality frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated success in driving improvement, managing performance, and analysing data to support decision-making.
