About Amelia
Amelia is an intelligent, determined young woman transitioning from hospital to her own home. With a bubbly personality and a sharp sense of humour, Amelia is passionate about advocating for the autistic community and delivers autism training across West Sussex and Brighton & Hove. In her free time, she enjoys music, trampolining, fashion, and exploring new areas. She is in a band, writes political lyrics, and plays electric and bass guitar and drums.
Amelia requires staff who can connect with her, understand her needs, and respect her as the expert on her own life. She values a humanistic approach and needs someone willing to learn from her. Amelia is autistic, with moderate learning disability, anxiety, OCD, and pathological demand avoidance, which can lead to behaviours that challenge. She also has a sleep disorder, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, Raynaud’s, and well-controlled epilepsy.
Amelia seeks a confident, supportive team to empower her in making choices.
