Inspire futures. Empower change.

Are you ready to inspire young people and help them take confident steps toward their future?

Island Futures is seeking a proactive, compassionate, and engaging Careers and Progression Adviser to deliver high-quality careers education, information, advice, and guidance (CEIAG) across a range of settings—including schools, community venues, and partner organisations. You will work with young people, including those with additional needs or EHCPs, supporting them to explore their options, unlock their potential, and make informed decisions about their next steps in education, training, or employment.

This is a person-centred, progression-focused role where you will help young people identify their strengths, overcome perceived barriers, and develop the skills and self-belief needed to thrive. You will use a trauma-informed approach to ensure every young person feels heard, valued, and empowered.

This role supports our 2030 vision: that every young person on the Isle of Wight leaves post-16 education equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to thrive locally, nationally, and globally. We are building an inclusive, future-focused system that broadens horizons, supports diverse pathways, and ensures no learner is left behind.

What you will bring:

Proven experience delivering CEIAG in school or community settings
A strong commitment to raising aspirations and outcomes for all learners, including those with SEND
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with young people
A collaborative, flexible, and innovative approach to careers education and guidance
An understanding of trauma-informed practice and inclusive support strategies
A focus on supporting sustained progression—helping young people navigate transitions and achieve meaningful next steps in education, training, or employment
What we offer:

A values-led team driven by ambition, innovation, and collaboration
Opportunities to lead and contribute to exciting, high-impact careers initiatives
Strong partnerships with schools, training providers, employers, and community organisations
Ongoing professional development and support to grow your practice
A meaningful role in shaping the futures of young people across the Island
