We are seeking a dedicated Park Ranger specializing in Building Services & Maintenance to join our team. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to work within some of the most beautiful and serene environments, ensuring that our park facilities are safe, well-maintained, and accessible for all visitors. Your expertise will not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of our parks and recreational areas but will also play a crucial role in preserving the integrity of the natural surroundings. As a Park Ranger, you will engage with the community, provide exceptional service, and promote an understanding of the importance of sustainable practices. You will be a key component in planning and implementing maintenance schedules, performing repairs, and overseeing contractors, all while educating park guests about the grounds. Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections of park buildings and facilities to identify maintenance and repair needs.
Perform routine maintenance tasks including landscaping, plumbing, electrical work, and cleaning services.
Develop and implement scheduled maintenance plans to ensure the functionality and longevity of facilities.
Assist in the coordination and oversight of contractors performing specialized maintenance and repair work.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes in all maintenance activities and park operations.
Respond to visitor inquiries and provide guidance regarding park facilities and maintenance concerns.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used, and report on maintenance progress and challenges.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in building maintenance or a related field preferred.
Proven experience in building services, maintenance, or facilities management.
Knowledge of safety regulations, building codes, and environmental protocols.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with the public and team members.
Physical fitness to perform manual labor tasks, including lifting and outdoor work in various weather conditions.
Valid driver's license and the ability to operate park vehicles safely.
Hours Per Week: 35.00
Start Time: 08:00
End Time: 16:00
Pay Per Hour: £12.24
Location: Newport, Wales
