Accountant | London | Full Time – Office Based | £30,000 and £50,000, depending on experience
Our client is a full-service UK-based property manager offering rental properties in London, Birmingham, and Manchester.
They are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join their team in London. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the finance function of residential and commercial property management. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and supporting day-to-day financial operations.
Please note- This is a junior to mid-level role. The client is open to candidates with different levels of relevant experience within this range.
Are you the right person for the job?
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA qualification preferred)
• Proven experience in an accounting role, preferably within the property or real estate sector (more than 3 years’ experience preferred)
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and tax legislation
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
What will your role look like?
• Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and tax regulations
• Coordinate with property managers to track income and expenditure related to property portfolios
• Manage service charge accounts and produce service charge statements
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies
• Maintain accurate and timely records of all financial transactions
• Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and controls
• Assist with financial planning and strategic decision-making
