Are you a kind, caring individual, with patience and empathy? Would you enjoy spending your days supporting individuals to live fulfilled, happy and enriched lives?
At Plean Dene in Shanklin, we provide a safe, warm, friendly and welcoming home environment for our residents, a wonderful group of 10 adults with learning disabilities and ‘behaviours that challenge’.
Our job is to ensure that those we care for lead an active, fulfilling and enriched lifestyle and we are looking to appoint positive, committed and forward-thinking Day Support Workers to assist us in this goal.
As part of our team, you will enable and support with all kinds of Person-Centred approaches to help promote independence.
Our residents have a wide range of care needs and support, ensuring everyone is happy and engaged in the support that suit them best.
While on shift you will complete domestic duties such as cleaning etc according to requirements, and necessary support to people throughout the night and at times whilst they are up, ensuring that you follow the person individual care plan.
A full clean UK driving licence is desirable.
You’ll also support with regular personal care whenever needed, supporting each individual to be as independent as possible.
You will play a key role in delivering a high-quality service, which has a person-centred approach and actively supports and maximises independence and life experience. Our team needs to be a special mix of energy and enthusiasm with the ability to also be gentle and calm, to adapt to the needs of all our residents, some of whom will communicate non-verbally which will require time and patience to master.
Contact us today to discover how you can fit in with our team as a Support Worker at Plean Dene! The typical night shift time is as follows:
Wakeful Night 22:00 – 07:30
You will be well supported and receive regular structured supervision, training and development opportunities.
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate an appropriate level of literacy and numeracy with a clear commitment to excellence. It is an important feature of these roles that residents have access to the range of community activities, and we therefore welcome applications from people who are able to drive vehicles used by the residents in the homes.
