Key Responsibilities: Lead and mentor our resident medical staff, fostering their development and ensuring the highest standards of care. Expertly manage patients within the Hyper-Acute Stroke Unit, delivering timely and effective interventions. Work with our experienced multi disciplinary team to provide care to our stroke inpatients across 51 beds on Benham ward (Hyper acute and acute care) and Allebone ward (Rehabilitation) Contribute to our essential 7-day-a-week TIA clinic, ensuring rapid assessment and management to prevent further strokes. Actively participate in multidisciplinary case conferences, collaborating with colleagues to provide holistic patient care. Share in the on-call stroke rota (1:6, with prospective cover), providing crucial specialist input when it's needed most. Engage in teaching and administration, contributing to the smooth running of the department and the education of future healthcare professionals. The exact shape of your job plan will be a collaborative process, finalised through discussions with you to align with your interests and expertise. Play a key role in audit and clinical governance, driving continuous improvement and ensuring the highest quality of care within the Unit. Support the appraisal and assessment of junior colleagues, contributing to their professional growth. Collaborate with fellow Consultants to further develop and enhance our Stroke Service at NGH, shaping its future direction
