Overview
At Ascending Heights, we believe that every individual deserves dignity, respect, and the opportunity to shape their own future. We’re looking for a dedicated and experienced Support Worker who shares our values and is passionate about helping others live life to the fullest.

As a Support Worker, you’ll support people to live as independently as possible, in line with their personal choices and goals. This includes helping with daily routines, personal care, health, and wellbeing, and encouraging social and community inclusion.

You will be a key part of delivering care that is safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led – the five CQC quality standards.

We are seeking experienced Support Workers who are:

Skilled in maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality
Proactive and confident in safeguarding and reporting concerns

Required Skills & Competencies
To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate the following core competencies:

Knowledge and understanding

Understanding of duty of care, safeguarding adults, and MCA (Mental Capacity Act)
Awareness of infection prevention and control (IPC)
Knowledge of health and safety procedures in social care
Understanding of person-centred approaches and promoting independence
Communication

Ability to communicate effectively (spoken and written) with people using services, families, and professionals
Competence in using clear, respectful, and inclusive language
Personal Development

Commitment to continuous learning and reflective practice
Ability to follow care plans, risk assessments, and work within CQC and regulatory guidelines
Working in a Person-Centred Way

Promotes choice, control, and dignity
Supports individuals to achieve their personal goals and aspirations
Teamwork and Collaboration

Works well within a team and contributes to a positive workplace culture
Understands the importance of multidisciplinary working
Professionalism and Accountability

Demonstrates reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
Takes responsibility for actions, decisions, and quality of care delivered
Completion of the Care Certificate or willingness to work towards it is highly desirable.

Expected hours: 37 – 42 per week
