Hydraulic Systems Technician

We're working with a global engineering company at the forefront of innovation in clean energy and off-highway mobility. Their Edinburgh-based innovation centre is expanding and looking for a Hydraulic Systems Technician to join their growing R&D team.
This is a hands-on, technically diverse role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced engineering environment. You'll be operating and maintaining hydraulic test rigs, supporting prototype builds, running system performance tests, and playing a key part in developing the next generation of hydraulic technologies for off-highway vehicles.
What you'll do:
- Set up and run hydraulic test rigs, instrumentation, and data systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with hydraulic systems and rigs
- Analyse test data and help improve system performance
- Assemble and fabricate prototype systems
- Support engineers with field testing and product development
What we're looking for:
- Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Hydraulics or similar
- Strong experience with hydraulic systems, testing, or maintenance
- Skilled in fault-finding, system assembly, and using test equipment
- Comfortable reading schematics and technical drawings
- Bonus if you've used CAN bus, 3D CAD, or worked with heavy machinery
