Crynodeb
The post holder will be expected to contribute to the day-to-day work of the department of upper GI surgery and will have dedicated main theatre time, outpatient clinics and day surgery operating lists. Independent endoscopy accreditation would be of value. The appointee will participate in the unselected emergency on-call (currently 1:8 lower GI and General), contribute to planned emergency operating lists (SDEC lists) and will be expected and supported to develop a managerial / teaching or clinical improvement role within emergency general or trauma surgery. Academic interests will be encouraged; research and teaching in collaboration with Cardiff Universitys School of Medicine will be expected.
