SSG provides temporary accommodation and support for people sleeping rough in Manchester across three Locations.
SSG are looking for a Front of House support worker to oversee the reception area of the project and be able to work daytime and night shifts. The successful candidate will take an enthusiastic and proactive approach to dealing with day-to-day tasks. You will be required to liaise between service users and support workers regarding queries and appointments.

Reporting To: Service Manager
Job Purpose: To oversee access and building management to homeless accommodation sites and to provide emergency and/or interim support to individuals residing at the project
Essential Skills & Abilities:
Communication - Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with clients, colleagues, and agencies.
Interpersonal Skills - Empathy, active listening, and the ability to build trust and rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Organisation - Able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
Problem Solving - Ability to apply appropriate approaches and proactively resolve issues, particularly in crisis situations.
Record Keeping - Competent in maintaining accurate, timely, and confidential records.
Technology - Applicants should be adept at operating modern communication technologies and CCTV
Accountability - To work within and comply to SSG Policies & Procedures
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Education - B2 level (upper intermediate) English and to Basic Maths level
Experience - Previous experience supporting vulnerable people (e.g. homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, etc)
Safeguarding - Understanding of a safeguarding principles and procedures.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
Additional Qualifications - Trauma-Informed Approach Training (Realise, Recognise, Respond and Resist)
Knowledge - Understanding of local homelessness services.
Complex Needs - Experience supporting people with dual diagnosis, offending behaviour, or multiple disadvantage.
Approaches - Familiarity with harm reduction strategies, risk assessment and intervention
Driving - Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Personal Attributes:

Resilient - Emotionally robust, calm under pressure, and able to cope with setbacks or distressing situations.

As a Front of House support worker, your duties will include:
- Reporting damages and repairs
- Collecting personal contribution
- Complete daily health and safety tasks
- Maintaining the security of the building including controlling access to the building
- Correspondence between service users and support workers
- Communicating and engaging effectively with staff and reporting and logging any issues
- Monitoring movement of service users
- Handling of post
- Dealing with anti-social behavior issues following the guidelines of the service
- Such other duties and responsibilities SSG deem commensurate with the post.
The successful candidate will:
Ensure the highest levels of customer service to all residents, visitors and contractors and be the first point of contact for all queries during your scheduled hours
To interact in a positive and friendly manner with people, including those with mental health needs, and be passionate about working in a service that supports vulnerable adults.
· An ability to work night shifts, and over time when required
· Be adaptable and flexible in your attitude and reactions and be able to problem solve quickly to new situations that arise.
