About the Industry: The Satellite Communications industry plays a critical role in enabling reliable, secure data and voice connectivity for maritime, government, and enterprise markets.

With the increasing need for global digitalisation, cybersecurity, and crew welfare solutions, this sector continues to evolve rapidly, offering future-proof career paths for technical and service-oriented individuals.

Role Overview: As an Airtime Apprentice, you will support the daily operations of the Airtime Department within a global satellite communications and IT solutions provider.

This role offers a unique opportunity to learn about billing systems, service provisioning, and network operations that serve some of the most remote and mission-critical environments on the planet.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support provisioning, activation, and deactivation processes for voice and data services across a range of satellite networks (VSAT, LEO, IP-based solutions).

- Assist with maintaining and updating billing profiles using internal platforms and third-party systems.

- Learn to process customer requests, sales orders, and service adjustments with a focus on timely execution.

- Contribute to the monthly billing cycle through housekeeping checks, data validation, and invoice review.

- Monitor service queues (e.g., Freshdesk) and help resolve customer queries with guidance from experienced team members.

- Collaborate with departments such as Sales, Engineering, and Support to ensure end-to-end accuracy in billing and service delivery.

- Process pre-paid voucher transactions and digital PIN deliveries.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- A good standard of secondary education (A-Levels or equivalent).

- Strong numeracy and problem-solving abilities.

- Confident using Microsoft Excel, Word, and other office tools.

- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes.

- Clear communication skills and a collaborative team attitude.

- Proactive learner with a keen interest in technology, telecoms, or IT.

- Trustworthy, dependable, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.

Development Opportunity:

This apprenticeship offers hands-on experience in the heart of the Satellite Comms sector, with exposure to technical systems, global billing structures, and real-world customer support workflows. Ideal for someone pursuing a career in operations, telecoms, or IT systems management.

Challenges You’ll Tackle

- Working to tight operational deadlines across multiple time zones.

- Learning complex telecom service structures and billing logic.

- Ensuring accuracy in high-value, high-reliability service environments.
