Crynodeb
Birmingham became home to one of the first three gynaecological cancer centres in the United Kingdom in the 1970s and as such has been instrumental in the development of gynaecological oncology as a profession. Over the decades, our service has evolved and developed resulting in national and international recognition for the high-level care provided by the multidisciplinary team. In addition, our Centre has a strong research history having led the development of some key clinical trials, contributed to many national and international trials, and has a strong in-house academic programme in conjunction with the University of Birmingham. Birmingham also has an excellent reputation for training and education and is one of the most prestigious gynaecological oncology training centres in the United Kingdom.
