Technical Services Manager

Our Lancashire site is home to our famous pickles, condiments and centre of excellence for olives and antipasti.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 – 17:00
Salary: £45,000
Purpose:
To provide professional, effective and efficient administrative support to the technical and QA function. Develop an effective and
harmonious relationship with customers, suppliers and colleagues. To carry out key tasks in line with business requirements to
ensure quality systems are complied with.
Your Duties Will Include:
* To ensure complaints from customers and local authorities are recorded, logged, investigated and responses sent within required
timescales
* To manage the site quality management system
* To complete gap analysis of customer and industry code of practice including product safety, provenance and integrity
requirements
* To manage the internal audit schedule and subsequent non-conformances
* To provide support to ensure generation of technical and quality data for submission to all customer and site KPI’s
* To support in resolving quality issues, primarily at goods intake with raw materials
* To ensure completed raw material and packaging specifications are always available
* Support delivery artwork checks to ensure packaging delivered is correct
* To manage the document control database including issuing updated and new documents to the appropriate departments.
* Promote a Health & Safety culture to ensure all Health & Safety requirements are met
* To be part of the HACCP & TACCP programme for site
* Support New Product Development (NPD) and ensure that all technical areas of NPD are managed and maintained including food
safety rationale of recipes
* Management of technical services e.g. labs and results
* Support site customer Visits
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
The right candidate will have a passion for food and an enthusiasm to learn on the job in a fast-paced sector of the industry.
Experience:
* HND/Degree in food based/manufacturing subject (desirable)
* Technical Food manufacturing experience within an FMCG environment (chilled food desirable)
* HACCP / Food Safety Training
Key Skills:
* Planning, organisation and project management
* Communicating at different levels of seniority
* Presentation skills
* Identifying solutions
* Basic computing skills
* Understanding of food science and basic understanding of UK and European regulation and legislation
* Drive to get the job done on time
