Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) - Edinburgh - Salary up to £41,500
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join a multi-skilled engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a well-rounded professional with a strong background in HVAC, fabric maintenance, and general mechanical building services to be based in a large prestigious site based in Edinburgh with occasional travel to smaller sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform planned and reactive maintenance on a wide range of HVAC systems, mechanical plant, and fabric components
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs across hot and cold-water systems, heating, and ventilation infrastructure
- Undertake pipework installation and maintenance, using threading and screwing machines
- Support welding tasks (welding experience preferred but not essential)
- Respond to emergency breakdowns as part of the on-call rota (1 in 5 weeks)
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and site procedures
- Liaise with other trades and contractors to deliver high-quality, efficient service
- Maintain accurate documentation including service reports and inspection records
Requirements:
- Time-served or qualified Mechanical Engineer (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2 or 3 or equivalent)
- Proven experience in HVAC systems, mechanical building services, and fabric maintenance
- Competence in pipework installation and experience with screwing machines (Preferred but not essential)
- Welding skills preferred but not essential
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
Salary & Benefits:
