A kind elderly lady, who likes getting out and about, requires a female Personal Assistant. She has a physical disability and lives Abronhill, in the Cumbernauld area.
This role is to provide weekend cover, working in a small team of other personal assistants, and the woman’s family, to support her health, wellbeing and quality of life.
The job involves one to one care at home and being out in the community visiting garden centres, shopping centres, parks, out for lunch or coffee and day trips to visit friends.
Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:
· Supporting with personal care needs - showering, toileting including bowel movements if required.
· Prompting to take medication.
· Moving and handling required and pushing a manual wheelchair.
· Preparing meals and healthy snacks.
· General Housework - laundry and cleaning, de-cluttering.
· Trips to cafes, shops, medical appointments.
· Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living.
The family require a committed, reliable and caring person who is friendly, honest and flexible. You will need to be physically fit for moving and handling duties.
Your job will involve forward planning of activities and being an enthusiastic and encouraging, chatty support.
A driver with a full UK driving licence is essential – you will be required to use your own vehicle, milage will be paid.
Experience is desirable, but not essential, as training will be provided.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility)
Recruiting for 1 position.
Zero hour contract of approximately 5 hours per week.
Days and Times:
Weekends: 1:00pm to 6:00pm (5 hours)
£15.00 per hour.
