Senior Architectural Technician
A regional housing contractor have a requirement for a Senior Architectural Technician to join their team based in Preston.
You will play a critical part in the design and delivery of residential projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining high standards of quality.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications and construction documents using AutoCAD.
- Working alongside external consultants and suppliers to complete a full tender package for the commercial and construction departments.
- Liaise with warranty and building control providers (NHBC, ICW, Premier etc.)
- Design work throughout the standard affordable and open market range house type range (including specifications and details) as well as implementing improvements for future packages and providing technical assistance to the teams as required.
- Ensure all designs comply with building regulations, planning policies and industry standards. Keeping up to date with legislation and regulation as well as understand future regulations that are coming into effect with the industry.
- Provide onsite support during construction and resolving technical issues as they arise.
- Conduct quality checks on documentation and drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
The successful Senior Architectural Technician must have previous experience working in a similar role within new build housing. Additional skills required include:
- Proficient IT skills including Microsoft packages (advanced knowledge)
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Highly organized and ability to work under pressure
- Professional attitude and approach to work
- Engineering related qualification, degree or equivalent
- High level of proficiency in relevant design and technical based software like AutoCAD
