Summary
Experienced Hotel & Restaurant Sous Chef required for the Oxenham Arms Hotel.
We are a wonderful and famous AA Rosette hotel in Devon's Dartmoor National Park situated just 18 minutes from Exeter and 10 minutes from Okehampton. Reporting to an experienced professional Head Chef and working in a team of 4, you will be contributing to menu design covering breakfasts, morning coffees, lunches, afternoon teas and dinners along with groups and functions. You must have 5-10 years minimum experience preparing fresh food in all sections of the kitchen and be able to provide holiday cover for the Head Chef and be used to supervising a small professional team.
As you will discover we have an excellent reputation for food in South West England and very professional front of house team members. We pride ourselves on a great wine list, have over 50 single malts, 80 gins and are considered the best venue for fine food in a beautiful historic environment and modern well equipped kitchen.
You can optionally choose to work 4 or 5 days per week and expect to work circa 35 - 45 hours per week depending on your availability. We are food led but not a late night venue and so chefs evening shifts usually finish around 10PM. This would be a good lifestyle choice position for someone wishing to relocate to one of the most wonderful parts of the UK. We do not pay for accommodation for staff but there are many local and reasonably priced long term rentals available and we provide a salary of £29K per annum ( or hourly pay if you prefer that ) plus 28 days paid holiday and tips plus pension scheme.
