We’re looking for a Data and Systems Accountant to join our small but mighty finance systems team. It’s a chance to shape how we do financial reporting at Home Group and help teams across the business make better, faster decisions.
You’ll work side by side with our Group Finance Manager for Data and Systems, bringing your Power BI skills and finance know-how to life. You’ll get to work with our Oracle experts and wider finance team to make sure our reports are clear, accurate and useful to users. It’s hands-on, problem-solving work where your ideas will genuinely shape how things run.
What you’ll do
- Improve how we report and use financial data using tools like Power BI
- Keep our finance systems running smoothly, spotting and solving issues early
- Make dashboard reports easier to use and understand for everyone
- Lead improvements to our processes for entering and pulling financial data
- Support finance teams across the business with system training and queries
- Work closely with software providers and IS colleagues to manage changes and test updates

What you bring
- Proven experience using Power BI or similar tools to improve financial reporting
- Great understanding of finance processes and reporting systems like Oracle
- A keen eye for detail and a love for solving tricky data problems
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with complex datasets
- The drive to lead change and improve how we work
- A friendly, collaborative style that helps others feel supported and informed

Job details
- You’ll work Monday to Friday
- The team work flexible hours between 08:00 and 18:00
- You’ll manage your own diary, so if you want to take a longer lunch, you can use your flexi time to manage that!
- This is a hybrid role, and you’ll spend 2 days in our central Newcastle upon Tyne offices and the rest working from home
