Salary: £27,000 – £34,000 per year (depending on experience)
Schedule: Monday to Thursday 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Friday 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Overtime: Optional Saturdays paid at time and a half

Overview

We are a busy and well-established bespoke joinery workshop in Kirkby-in-Ashfield looking for an experienced Bench Hand Joiner to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a hands-on role working on custom joinery projects for commercial interiors, including bars, restaurants, retail spaces, and office fit-outs.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Manufacture and assemble bespoke joinery items from workshop drawings and CAD plans

  
  

• Work with materials such as MDF, plywood, solid hardwoods, laminates, and veneered boards

  
  

• Use hand tools, cordless drills, routers, saws, and other woodworking tools accurately and safely

  
  

• Follow detailed joinery drawings and technical specifications

  
  

• Produce high-quality items such as counters, cabinets, wall panelling, feature walls, and interior furniture

  
  

• Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow health and safety procedures at all times

  
  

• Work independently or as part of a team to meet production deadlines

  
  Required Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Bench Joiner, Bench Hand Joiner, or Cabinet Maker

    
    

  • Able to read and interpret technical joinery drawings

    
    

  • Strong woodworking skills and experience working with both hand tools and power tools

    
    

  • Knowledge of furniture assembly, carcass construction, veneering, and edge banding

    
    

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship

    
    

  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to manage time effectively

    
    

  • NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Carpentry and Joinery or equivalent qualification is desirable
