Mitie, through the Hestia contract, supports the Royal Navy by delivering high-quality services at RNWAC, a centre of excellence for water-based training and recreation.
You'll deliver certified courses, maintain watercraft, issue safety gear, and support the Chief Instructor. You must hold an RYA Dinghy Instructor or Paddle Sport/SUP Instructor qualification and a valid First Aid certificate. Additional qualifications are desirable. Responsibilities:
As a Water Sports Instructor at the Royal Navy Water Activity Centre, you will be responsible for delivering a range of water-based training sessions, including RYA dinghy and powerboat courses, as well as Paddle UK SUP, kayak, and canoe activities. You will assist in maintaining watercraft and safety equipment, issue clothing and gear, and ensure all activities are conducted safely and professionally. Working closely with the Chief Instructor, you'll support the delivery of high-quality instruction to military personnel, civil service members, and contractors, while upholding the standards and values of both RNWAC and Mitie.
Requirements:
-Qualified Instructor: Must hold an RYA Dinghy Instructor or Paddle Sport/SUP Instructor certification.
-First Aid Certified: Possess a valid and up-to-date First Aid qualification. (Desirable)
-Strong Personal Attributes: Organised, confident, proactive, adaptable, and calm under pressure.
-Team Player: Able to work collaboratively with the Chief Instructor and wider team to deliver high-quality training.
-Maintenance Skills: Capable of conducting routine maintenance on watercraft and managing safety equipment.
