Location: St Dominic’s School, Hambledon, Nr Godalming, Surrey GU8 4DXSt Dominic’s School is a well-known and highly regarded special school in Surrey and stands in 56 acres of wooded grounds with ample space for recreational and outdoor learning activities. The school caters for up to 150 pupils and Sixth Form students between the ages of 7 – 19, who have a range of academic abilities and complex needs. It is owned and run by Orchard Hill College Academy Trust.
We offer access to an extensive range of GCSE subjects pitched at individual students’ levels. Within the Sixth Form, students are able to access external college placements as part of their personalised holistic education and therapy provision.
The School has an in-house team of qualified therapists offering Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Sensory Integration. The range of therapeutic support available to pupils and students enables them to access the curriculum at an appropriate level, maximising each individual’s potential for achievement. Additionally, there are purpose-built medical facilities where nursing cover is provided on a daily basis by qualified staff.

The successful candidate will have experience in coordinating a timetable and working with children. Excellent time management, organisational skills and working to deadlines is essential for this post. The role involves 2/3 classroom cover and 1/3 cover supervisor duties and responsibilities.
St Dominic’s is able to offer an in-house training programme that allows Teaching Assistants to demonstrate key competencies in order to develop and improve practice and work towards specialisms within the role as well as aspiring to a range of other career opportunities in different disciplines. At St Dominic’s, successful completion of the Teaching Assistant Competency Framework at Level 1 and 2 is linked to pay.
