Mobile Remedial Electrician (Commercial / Industrial Property Maintenance)

Salary: Up to £40,000 Basic + Overtime & Shift Allowance + Fully Expensed Company Van + Benefits
Location: Newcastle (Regional coverage within a 50-mile radius)
Hours: Various shifts

Our client is one of the UK's leading providers of specialist electrical testing services for occupied premises. From schools and hospitals to office blocks, retail outlets, and industrial units, they ensure that all fixed wiring, switchgear, and control equipment is compliant with regulations and safe to use.

Following inspections by their Test & Inspection Engineers, our Electricians complete any required upgrades and repairs. The work is varied - one day you might replace a breaker; the next, you could be upgrading multiple switches in a large industrial unit. No two days are the same, so you'll need to think on your feet and adapt to changing tasks and environments.

Field Electricians are the backbone of the company - the unsung heroes who keep clients safe and compliant.

This is a permanent position offering:

  • A fully expensed company van

  • Fantastic benefits

  • A competitive salary with plenty of overtime available for those who want it

The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Electrician to support our Maintenance and Repairs team, covering Newcastle and the surrounding areas. All work is planned in advance and coordinated by our Operations Planning team based at Head Office in West Yorkshire. You'll have a dedicated works coordinator who will support you through regular communication, liaising with customers and suppliers on your behalf.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out electrical remedial works in commercial and industrial environments

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, legislation, and best practices

  • Communicate effectively with clients to explain findings, answer questions, and provide technical advice

  • Follow company policies, procedures, and safety protocols at all times

  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to keep skills current

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role

  • City & Guilds 2391-52 (or equivalent) in Inspection and Testing

  • NVQ Level 3

  • 18th Edition qualification

  • In-depth knowledge of BS 7671, IET Wiring Regulations, and relevant standards

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

  • Valid UK driving licence

What We Offer:

  • Overtime and premium pay for unsocial working hours (after 19:00 and before 07:00)

  • Fully expensed company van

  • Access to over 800 discounts on everyday essentials - including gym memberships, holidays, electrical goods, insurance, and mobile phones
