Senior Communications Officer needed in EastLondon

The rate is £217.63per day PAYE

This is a temporary role

The reference number is: 1560643

Strategic Communication – ability to develop and deliver communications strategies, align comms activity with priorities and corporate objectives, deliver tangible outcomes, and horizon scan to anticipate emerging issues

Media & Public Relations – ability to build and manage relationships with local, regional, and national media, draft press releases, media statements, and briefing notes and sell in stories to the media, experience of handling crisis communications and reputational management

Sector Understanding – ability to understand political and legal sensitivities of working in local government and also have an ability to translate complex policies and council decisions into accessible messages

Content Creation – ability to write clear, concise, engaging and accessible copy for various formats, adhering to council style and branding guidelines

Project Management and organisational skills – ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, utilise forward planning tools, coordinate and execute campaigns, evaluate impact and effectiveness of communications activity

Leadership & Mentoring – experience of managing and leading a team, ability to support junior team members and provide strategic communications advice to senior officers and members.
