About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join our customers Family Support Service in Didcot on a temporary basis. This is a 20-hour per week position, offering flexible working hours, including the option to work from home for paperwork and report writing.
You will be supporting a 12-week family assessment, conducting direct work with children and families through 6–8 observation sessions, preparing detailed reports for court, and attending all associated court dates. You may also be required to observe routines such as bedtime as part of the assessment process.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct observation sessions with families across the assessment period
• Prepare high-quality written reports for court proceedings
• Observe and assess parenting routines (including possible evening visits for bedtime observations)
• Work collaboratively with the Family Support Service team
• Attend and contribute to all court dates related to the case
• Maintain accurate, timely records and reports

Requirements:
• Registered with Social Care Wales (SCW)
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children and families in a social care setting
• Strong understanding of child development, safeguarding, and family dynamics
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
• Availability to commit fully for the 12-week duration, including court attendance
