Your new company Our client is a leading defendant law firm with offices nationwide. An opening has arisen within their Catastrophic Loss team in Manchester or Liverpool, and they are currently recruiting for an experienced Associate or Senior Associate with catastrophic loss experience. They offer a competitive salary and plenty of hybrid flexibility.
Your new role
This Catastrophic Loss Senior Associate job will see you responsible for:

  • Manage a caseload of serious and catastrophic injury claims, including brain, spinal, amputation, and fatality cases valued from £250,000 to £1,000,000+.
  • Assist Partners and Legal Directors on the most complex and high-value claims
  • Work closely with colleagues across the catastrophic loss and wider insurance teams.
  • Support junior team members through mentoring and supervision.
  • Maintain strong relationships with insurer clients, providing timely and commercially sound advice.
  • Maintain accurate time recording and billing practices.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of client needs and the commercial drivers behind litigation strategy.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including client pitches and networking events.


What you'll need to succeed
You must be a qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive with extensive catastrophic injury experience. A minimum of 6 years' qualifying experience within defendant catastrophic loss is essential. You must have experience handling catastrophic injury claims valued from £250,000 upwards. This role will suit ambitious and successful Catastrophic Loss Associates looking to take the next step in your career or Senior Associates looking to join a high-performing team.
