Little Holland Hall is a versatile care home which offers a wide range of services including residential, nursing and dementia care on a permanent and respite basis. The team also provide compassionate end of life care. The Essex based home offers a spacious and well-furnished interior with 24/7 access to carers. Throughout the home there is good wheelchair access meaning your loved one is welcome to enjoy the shared spaces and landscaped gardens as they wish. Residents can enjoy a great deal of personal freedom within the home. Little Holland Hall takes a person-centred approach to care. Each member of staff takes the time to get to know every resident, from their physical needs through to their personality, hobbies and interests.
As an kitchen assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring that food is prepared to the highest standards and with the correct use of all equipment and materials.
Essential Skills
• Previous catering experience is preferred but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
• Report and record in the appropriate manner any information considered to be important to the Homes Manager
• Ensure that the Cook-in-charge is kept informed of any changes or problems that occur during his/her absence.
• Ensure that a good standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained throughout the kitchen, to meet the required standards of practice prescribed by Environmental Health Agencies
• Ensure that all machines are used correctly, cleaned and stored. Any faults or damage is to be reported immediately.
• Ensuring the correct storage and rotation of stocks.
We are offering this role at 28.5 hours per week, shift times are 08:00 - 18:30 per week. This does include regular weekend working.
