Your new company
Hays are partnered with a reputable Cheshire-based pharmaceutical business to help them find an experienced INDIRECT Category Manager to join their global team. Your new role
As the company's Global Indirects Category Manager, you will be responsible for leading on the company's total indirect spend, with a particular focus on the Marketing, Fleet, Corporate Travel and Professional Services categories. In this role, you will deliver optimal value for money and deliver tangible cost savings and efficiencies through strategic procurement activity, whilst maintaining high quality standards and compliance with relevant standards. You will be responsible for leading and managing procurement processes within the indirects category and striving to optimise the process, whilst working with the head of department to plan and rollout a strategic category plan amongst the team.

Working on a global scale, this role brings exciting opportunities to travel overseas to other sites to meet with suppliers and key stakeholders. The Global Category Manager will work closely with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external, to deliver savings and improve overall performance, including supplier performance and adherence to SLAs.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A significant procurement background specifically within INDIRECT spend (which includes marketing and professional services)
  • Excellent stakeholder management and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Global procurement experience within a manufacturing organisation
  • Strong systems skills with multi-site ERP systems
  • Experience of devising and implementing category strategies from scratch
  • Proven ability to review and negotiate contractual terms
  • Willingness to travel where required
