What skills and experience we're looking for

Sunnydown School is a specialist secondary school for boys with autism where

students achieve highly and learn life skills for the world beyond school. This schoolis unique in Surrey.

We are looking to recruit a dedicated and inspirational headteacher who will build upon the excellent foundations which have been built and continue to drive the schoolforward.

We have a brilliant team of friendly, committed and supportive staff who deliverexcellent quality teaching and support for the 90 boys in KS3 and KS4, all of whomhave EHCPs.

We want to build on the practice that is embedded in the school and our newHeadteacher will lead the school forward promoting a culture of success in andbeyond academic attainment. They will need to lead on the further development ofthe curriculum in the context of the changing needs of students attending, as well ascontinuing the development of being an outward facing school.

The new headteacher will need to be able to articulate and communicate strategicintent to all stakeholders, providing robust and accurate reports, seeking support andchallenge to evidence compliance and improvement in the school’s practice.

This is an exciting opportunity for both an existing Headteacher or experiencedsenior leader to join the Sunnydown team and take the school forward into the nextphase of its journey.

For a confidential conversation, or to arrange a visit to our amazing school, pleasecontact Ross Laird at rlaird@academicis.co.uk or via 07901 585959.
