Do you have the patience, empathy and enthusiasm to support a child who needs a little extra help? A welcoming primary school in Sutton Coldfield is seeking a committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 pupil showing signs of ADHD.
This is a full-time, long-term position starting in September, ideal for someone with experience managing behaviour and supporting children with attention and focus challenges. The role involves building a positive relationship with the pupil and helping them access learning throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent 1:1 support to a KS1 pupil with ADHD
- Assist with transitions, focus and classroom routines
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
- Use proactive strategies to keep the pupil engaged
You Will Need:
- Experience supporting children with additional needs, particularly ADHD or behavioural challenges
- A calm, patient and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Confidence in using behaviour management techniques
