Hays Education is recruiting on behalf of a well-established specialist secondary school in Greater Manchester. The school supports pupils aged 11-19 with a range of complex needs, including
Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school is known for its inclusive approach, experienced staff, and commitment to delivering high-quality SEND education.
Your New Role
As a Level 3 Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with Autism and challenging behaviour. Working closely with teachers and therapists, you will deliver targeted interventions, manage behaviour positively, and help pupils access a personalised curriculum. This is a full-time, long-term role starting in September, with the potential for a permanent position.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- A recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience supporting children or young people with Autism, SEMH, or PMLD
- Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, proactive approach
- A genuine passion for working in SEND education
- An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply
