Job Title: Approved Electrician
Location: Worcestershire
Reporting To: Electrical Supervisor / Site Manager / Contracts Manager
Job Type: Temporary, full time hours
Salary: £25ph
Job Purpose:
To carry out electrical installation, maintenance, and testing work in accordance with current regulations, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with project specifications and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, inspect, test, and certify electrical systems on a commercial site
Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
Carry out fault finding and repairs efficiently and safely.
Ensure compliance with the latest IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
Complete necessary documentation (e.g., Electrical Installation Certificates, Minor Works Certificates, and Electrical Installation Condition Reports).
Supervise and mentor junior electricians and apprentices as required.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and other trades to ensure smooth coordination on-site.
Maintain high standards of workmanship and professionalism at all times.
Ensure health and safety compliance on all tasks.
Essential Requirements:
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
City & Guilds 2391, 2394/5, or equivalent Inspection & Testing qualification.
Current ECS/JIB Approved Electrician card.
In-depth knowledge of BS 7671 (18th Edition).
Minimum [X] years of relevant post-qualification experience.
Full UK driving license (if travel is required).
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
Experience with fire alarm, emergency lighting, or BMS systems.
IPAF (is a plus)
Gold ECS card is required
Experience in commercial environments
Familiarity with risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
Working Conditions:
May involve working at height or in confined spaces.
Potential travel to various sites.
Some out-of-hours or weekend work may be required depending on project demands.
