We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Tutor in Welsh to contribute to the delivery of undergraduate teaching within the BA Welsh (First and Second Language) programmes at Swansea University.

This is a permanent post but for term time only, working between 1st September and Mid-June each year. (The post is paid all year round, with 12 monthly payments totalling 0.8FTE). This post will commence 1st September 2025.

The role is ideally suited to individuals with a passion for teaching language, literature, and cultural studies.

The post holder will support the development of students’ written and spoken Welsh through small-group seminars, workshops, and one-to-one sessions. The successful candidates will work closely with academic staff to deliver language modules, literature tutorials, and cultural discussions, ensuring students receive an engaging and supportive learning experience. Additionally, the role holder will be expected to contribute to recruitment efforts and undertake administrative roles within the subject team.

Key responsibilities include preparing and delivering seminar content, providing formative feedback, assessing coursework, and participating in academic support activities such as office hours and revision sessions. The role may also involve contributing to the development of teaching materials and assessments.

These are rewarding opportunities to contribute to a vibrant and inclusive academic community that values the Welsh language and culture. The role offers valuable teaching experience and the chance to inspire the next generation of Welsh speakers, writers, and cultural contributors.

Your main work will be teaching and assisting with associated administration, but you are warmly invited to become part of the Department’s lively research culture.
