Job Overview
As a Site Operative for General Building and Grounds Maintenance, you will play a key role in ensuring that our building and outdoor areas are well-maintained, safe, and presentable. You will be responsible for carrying out a variety of tasks related to building repairs, maintenance, and grounds upkeep to support the smooth running of the sites.
Duties
Assist with minor repairs and maintenance work, including building and carpentry tasks.
Smaller general ground work and maintenance tasks including installtion of fencing and gates, bollards/posts, paving
Ensure all safety equipment is functional and available for use.
Maintain outdoor areas, including lawns, gardens, walkways, and parking lots.
Keep grounds clear of litter and debris.
Operate and maintain tools and equipment, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Assist other tradespeople or contractors on site when necessary.
Perform other ad-hoc tasks related to the maintenance and smooth running of the sites as required by the supervisor.
Ensure all waste is collected and disposed of properly.
Clean and maintain building bin stores, ensuring they are tidy, accessible, and properly secured.
Clean gutters, downspouts, and roof drains to prevent blockages and water damage.
Ensure that all roof cleaning activities are carried out safely, following proper safety protocols and using the appropriate equipment.
Assist other tradespeople or contractors on site when necessary.
Perform other ad-hoc tasks related to the maintenance and smooth running of the sites as required by the supervisor.
Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Report any issues or hazards immediately to the supervisor or facilities manager.
Qualifications
Proven experience in groundskeeping and general building maintenance
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment
Background in construction
Relevant certifications in maintenance preferred
