Crynodeb
To work as a team with other paediatric dietitians to provide dietetic care to patients referred by the Child Health Directorate. To provide cover for other paediatric dietitians work during absence. To provide an inpatient dietetic service to infants and children on Woodcock ward, Wildgoose ward, Childrens HDU and ITU. To be responsible for the provision of an outpatient service for patients attending consultant led paediatric clinics such as CMPI, disordered eating, allergy and dietetic clinics. To attend ward and case meetings as appropriate. To undertake appropriate nutritional assessment and dietary treatment of patients referred for dietary advice and design care plans. To review patients and adapt care plans as nutritional requirements change with age, stage of development and clinical status. To communicate with and educate patients and their parents/carers effectively to translate complex theory into a realistic, understandable format. To liaise with pharmacy, housekeeping and catering services over the provision of suitable feeds and meals for paediatric patients. To liaise with parents/carers, community health, education and social services in providing for the nutritional needs of patients in the community.
