A warm and welcoming family on Shepherdess Walk is seeking an experienced maternity nurse to support them as they welcome their first baby at the end of August.
The role involves providing expert postpartum care, assisting the mother in establishing a routine for the baby, and offering gentle guidance during the early weeks of parenthood. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, knowledgeable, and pet-friendly, as the family has a Cocker Spaniel and two cats. A valid first aid qualification is essential for this position.
Working hours: Monday to Friday (12 hours, flexible e.g. 8 am to 8 pm)
Duties include:
all maternity nurse duties
help mum with postpartum care
supporting mum in setting up a routine for the baby
implementing a good sleep routine
help, encourage and advise on breastfeeding
bathing the baby
light housekeeping whilst mum is spending time with the baby including dishwasher
wipe the sides down
laundry
put toys away
sterilise bottles
tidy baby's room
manage baby's wardrobe etc.
batch cooking for parents
The initial placement will begin on 1st September 2025 and last for two weeks, with the potential to extend through to December for the right candidate.
