The Role:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 6 Operating Department Practitioner to join our perioperative team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safe and effective care of patients undergoing surgical procedures. You will be involved in anaesthetic and perioperative care, working collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities: Prepare, maintain, and manage the operating theatre environment to ensure patient safety and compliance with infection control standards. Assist with anaesthetic procedures and monitor patients throughout surgery. Provide expert care in the recovery phase post-surgery, assessing and responding to patient needs. Act as a senior practitioner supporting and mentoring junior ODPs and other theatre staff. Contribute to continuous service improvement and participate in audits and training initiatives. What Were Looking For: Registered Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC registration mandatory). Experience working in a busy surgical or perioperative environment, preferably at Band 5 level or equivalent. Strong clinical skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
